Today's spotlight school is Wallace Lake K-8. The overall points toward WLK8's school grade increased for the 2024-2025 school year. Furthermore, they continued to offer many valuable course offerings and extracurricular activities while building a cohesive school community. We are so proud of the Wolfpack Family. #SRCDS1stChoice

⚠️Important Update - New K-8 Cell Phone Policy ⚠️
Starting July 1, 2025, all K-8 students will follow a new state-mandated policy regarding student cell phone use.
UPDATES FOR 2025-2026
✅ALLOWED - Phones may be brought to school but must remain powered off and stored out of sight during the school day.
🚫NOT PERMITTED DURING SCHOOL HOURS - Phones may not be used during the school day (class, transitions, lunch, recess, in restrooms, etc.)
Note: The Code of Student Conduct for 2025-2026 will be updated with this change. This policy is designed to minimize distractions, promote engagement, and support safe environments for all students. If you need to reach your child, you will need to contact the front office.

Hobbs Middle School has a huge spotlight on Spotlight on Student Growth!
🎯English Language Arts: All three grade levels showed growth, with higher proficiency in ELA this year than last—a powerful indicator that our literacy focus is paying off.
🎯Civics: We saw a strong boost in Civics scores, reflecting our students’ growing understanding of government, history, and citizenship.
🎯Mathematics: Most grade levels showed improvement in math proficiency, highlighting the success of our instructional shifts and targeted support.
This momentum is worth celebrating—and building on. Thank you to everyone who helped make this progress possible. Together, we are moving forward! #SRCDS1stChoice

GBHS is proud to celebrate both academic and athletic achievements. Just to name a few:
⭐A GBHS academic highlight: Our US History EOC scores increased from 89% to 92% proficiency and our Biology EOC scores also increased from 82% to 86% proficiency.
⭐A GBHS athletic highlight: Our Beach Volleyball Team were State and National Champions for the 2nd year in a row. Go Dolphins!

Sims Middle School has so much to celebrate!
👏96% of Pre Engineering 2 students earned REC Industry Certification in Pre Engineering.
👏8th grade Pre Algebra ranked #1 in the district with 86% proficiency.
👏Civics and Science scores improved 6% .
👏6th grade proficiency increased by 5% on FAST math.
👏 7th grade ELA proficiency was 71% ranking Sims 2nd in the district.

Today's featured school is Woodlawn Beach Middle School! WBMS is proud of the 6th grade advanced math students who have qualified to take Algebra Honors in 7th grade for high school credit! They had had 50 students qualify! That is double the number in years past! Great job!

Today, we are featuring West Navarre Intermediate. WNIS would like to highlight a STEAM Day experience they hosted at the end of March. On March 27, WNIS went Wild About Animals for STEAM Day! Students had a blast exploring hands on STEAM activities, including a fun and challenging Safari Scavenger Hunt. Our amazing teachers (AKA Safari Tour Guides) created meaningful, engaging learning experiences that brought STEAM to life! Additionally, we are grateful for the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office for partnering with us and bringing their K9 Team to share with our students. What an unforgettable learning experience for all!

Today we are featuring success at Central School! Did you know? Central is our only K-12 school in the district. Central School achieved the LARGEST learning gains in the district on the 7th grade Civics End-of-Course Assessment, showing a 26% increase in proficiency from the 2023–2024 to the 2024–2025 school year. This remarkable growth reflects the hard work of our students and the focused, engaging instruction provided. Wow! Way to shine, Jaguars! We are so proud of you! #SRCDS1stChoice
