School-based occupational and physical therapy are related services that support special education under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

Under the Florida State PT Practice Rules, a written recommendation from a Florida physician is required in order for a child to receive school-based PT services. The school will provide the necessary form.
