Conducting Research in Santa Rosa County District Schools

Santa Rosa County District Schools recognizes the importance of scholarly research in advancing educational practices and supports such endeavors when they align with the district’s mission to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.

To ensure the protection of student privacy and the preservation of instructional time, all individuals or organizations seeking to conduct external research within Santa Rosa County District Schools must adhere to the following process:

  • Review the district’s Research Guidelines,

  • Complete the official Research Application,

  • Submit all required supporting documentation, and

  • Obtain formal approval from the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment prior to initiating any research activities.

External research is defined as any study initiated by individuals or conducted under the sponsorship of agencies, institutions, or organizations not under the governance of the Santa Rosa County School Board.

If you would like to conduct research in our district, please follow the steps below:

📄 Application Process:

  1. Download and complete the Research Application Form
    (Include your Word doc as the link)

  2. Prepare required documents including:

    • IRB approval letter

    • Copies of all instruments (surveys, interview questions, etc.)

    • Participant consent forms

  3. Email your completed packet to:

  4. District Review Timeline:

    • Proposals are reviewed within 2–3 weeks.

    • Final approval will be confirmed by email.

    • If approved, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will be issued.

  5. Reporting Back:

    • Researchers must submit a summary report within 60 days of completion.

    • The district reserves the right to request a presentation of findings.
