Tier 3 Intervention

About Tier 3

In Tier 3 intervention, we are using the SIPPS (Systematic Instruction in Phonological Awareness, Phonics, and Sight Words) Program. SIPPS is a foundational skills reading curriculum designed to help both new and struggling readers in grades K–12. The program's systematic scope and sequence provides a structured-literacy approach to instruction through explicit routines focused on phonological awareness, spelling-sounds, and sight words. In Tier 3 we are also using the Letter Names Program. This program is designed to teach students their letter names and sounds.

Students are placed in Reading Intervention according to the following contributing factors: STAR Early Lit/Reading tests, current ELA grades, retention in prior years, SIPPS screener, and observations from their current year teacher/teachers.

The students were screened and put at their appropriate level in these programs to meet their individual needs
