About Us
Our History
S.S. Dixon Primary began as a primary school serving kindergarten through second grade on August 15, 1994. Up until that date the school has housed grades pre-k through fifth grade with an enrollment of 1100 students. Presently, Dixon Primary has an enrollment of approximately 650 students.
The original school was opened in 1926 as Pace School. Grades one through eighth attended the school. The school's name was changed in honor of Mrs. Sam Dixon who was principal from 1949-1964. Dixon Primary experienced continuous growth and outgrew the main building. The school expanded the campus many times but, the need for an additional campus became evident. Dixon Intermediate School became our sister school for grades third through fifth in 1994.
