Volunteer at PRE

VOLUNTEERS
Pea Ridge Elementary values the help provided by all of our volunteers! Whether helping a student one-on-one, in the school office or cafeteria, helping on “Picture Day”, or serving as a guest speaker, your contributions are important! Volunteers give so much to the students. In return, volunteers receive smiles, love and the satisfaction of helping to make a difference in a child’s life. Your commitment is needed and appreciated!

What is the difference between a Volunteer and a Visitor?
Volunteers have an expectation of being in the school setting and donating their time on more than one occasion during the year. (Examples: A person who plans to go to the school regularly or on more than one occasion to help with activities such as reading to students, helping with a fundraiser, a Book Fair, school-wide events, filing papers for a teacher, mentoring students, etc.) To be a volunteer in a school, an individual must first complete a Volunteer Application for each school at which he/she wishes to volunteer and go through the Level 1 process.
Visitors only plan on visiting the school once, or even occasionally, during the school year for a presentation, conference, meeting, or to observe an activity as a parent or guest. A visitor does not have any expectation of being in the school regularly to perform volunteer work. (Examples of visitors: Parents attending a parent conference, visiting a student at lunch.) To be a school visitor, an individual must first sign in at the front office, which includes showing his/her driver’s license, and wear the visitor sticker provided by front desk personnel at all times while on the school campus.
