Positive Behavioral Interventions & Support

At Pea Ridge, our PBIS expectations are explained through our P.R.I.D.E. acronym. Students are recognized and rewarded for exemplifying these traits: Positive, Resilient, Involved, Determined, and Encouraged.

PBIS is an evidence-based, tiered framework for supporting students’ behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. When implemented with fidelity, PBIS improves social-emotional competence, academic success, and school climate. It also improves teacher health and well-being. It is a way to create positive, predictable, equitable, and safe learning environments where everyone thrives!

The Care Closet

The Care Closet is a warm and welcoming space filled with various items that help meet students' needs while they're here at school. It will be stocked with spare clothing, hygiene products, snacks, and more, designed as a resource to foster an environment where students can focus on learning, free from distractions.

Why Is A Care Closet Important?

• It empowers students - By coming together as a community, we are creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student feels supported and empowered to thrive.

• It builds relationships - The Care Closet offers an opportunity to connect with students on a deeper level, fostering trust and building positive relationships beyond the classroom.

• It alleviates the burden on teachers - The Care Closet relieves some of the burden on teachers to individually address students' immediate needs. By working together as a team, we can efficiently meet these needs and ensure every student has essential resources.
