PBIS

What is PBIS?
PBIS is a program supported by West Navarre Primary School to promote positive behaviors and student success. It is a school –wide strategy that is meant to help ALL students achieve important social and behavior goals. At WNP, we believe that every student deserves to be in an environment that will ensure their safety, engage their brains, and challenge their abilities. Therefore, students are taught the behaviors we expect to see, reminded to use those behaviors, and acknowledged when they do. As part of our PBIS program, we have established STAR expectations. We hope our students display these “STAR” expectations in their homes and their community.
How YOU Can Help At Home
Ask your child about the STAR expectations.
Work together to decide what following the STAR expectations looks like in your home and in the community.
Help your child get to school on time every day.
Make school attendance a priority.
Attend parent/teacher conferences.
If you find a STARBUCK, ask your child what they did to earn it.
How Does PBIS work at West Navarre Primary School?
At WNP, students are rewarded frequently with STARBUCKS and praised for their great behavior and ability to follow the STAR expectations. The students collect these STARBUCKS and keep them in a STARBUCK pouch until the end of the month. Then all the students count their STARBUCKS. The top 3 STARBUCK winners in each class get to choose from the “Prize Cart” in the cafeteria, during their scheduled lunch time. The students’ names are displayed outside their classroom doors as well. We have a great time celebrating our STARBUCK winners.
