Meet our Royal Cub Resource Officer!
I’m Deputy Charles Swartz, I’m originally from Polk County, FL, where I was born and raised. I first started with the Sheriff’s Office there in 2008 after graduating high school the year before. This is where my dad also worked. My wife is a teacher in Santa Rosa County. We met in 2008 while she was attending college in central FL. She is originally from Chumuckla and went to school in Pensacola. We relocated to Escambia County in 2015, and we both went to work in Santa Rosa. We have two girls, born in 2016 and 2018. We also raise chickens and sell the eggs - we raise some specifically for meat and do our own butchering, and raise some purebreds for fertile eggs and hatching chicks to sell. I also enjoy any kind of hands-on activity such as working on our cars, building things, planting our garden, and learning more about those hobbies and collecting the tools to do so. We purchased farm land in 2021 and hope to move onto the property and do more homestead type farming in the future and be more self-sustainable. My dream is to work for myself one day after retiring from police work.
