Our 3rd grade students made floats and participated in a fun filled Mardi Gras morning! The GBHS jazz band performed as well. This will definitely be a day our Dolphins won't forget! We love this new tradition! 🐬

Through Finn’s Mission, you’ll learn the lifesaving skill of Hands-Only CPR and how to recognize a stroke. Here are the next steps to take today and be one of the first to complete your mission:

💗Raise funds to help kids with special hearts and start earning thank-you gifts.
💗Complete Finn’s Mission: Learn Hands-Only CPR, earn your lifesavers cape and be entered to win two Super Bowl tickets!
Now is the time to join our team! We need your help to reach our goal! If 50% of our families sign up, our school will earn a $500 gift certificate for physical activity and recess equipment to support the health of our school community.

Mrs. Phillips' students have been learning about physical and chemical changes in science. Take a look at how they used hands-on activities to explore these concepts yesterday during station rotations. Way to go, 4th grade!!!🐬🩵

Thank you to Major Galen Smith, USAF, for being a guest reader! Major Smith came in to read to 1st grade students last week. The students loved listening to his thoughtfully selected stories. Major Smith also took the time to answer questions about his career in the military, types of military planes, and how he uses reading and writing in his job! Thank you, Major Smith! 🙌

Mark your calendars for upcoming events this week! 📆 This week is also School Counselor Appreciation Week! Thank you to Ms. Lowry (School Counselor) for her hard work and dedication to our students. We also have our Military Family Counselor, Mrs. Wallace, as well as CDAC Counselor, Mrs. Glenn, and our Trauma Informed Counselor, Mrs. WIldrick! We appreciate ALL of these ladies for their support of our students. Show them some love this week!

A book is a gift you can open again and again! 🎁 Whether it be buddy reading, flashlight reading, listening to a read aloud, or reading independently, our Dolphins love to experience the magic of a book! 📕
February is Career & Technical Education Month! This is also known as CTE. Even at the elementary level, our students at GBE are being exposed to future careers and career exploration! If you'd like to explore a free resource for career preparation, visit Xello via your child's Rapid Identity portal. This program will allow your child to take a quick assessment to see what future careers they may want to explore!
Thank you to the Blue Anchor Belles for joining us for a school wide assembly to conclude Literacy Week! 🇺🇸 They shared books from different decades as we move through the chapters of American history, as well as sang songs as we celebrated America! 🎶 What a great way to end the week!
Who are the Blue Anchor Belles? ➡️ They are a group of Military wives who love to sing and provide music therapy to veterans and their families. They create unique three-part harmonies for beloved WWII-era music, bringing the top hits from the 40's and 50's to all generations. 🎤
Today was DECADE day to wrap up Literacy Week! We’ve enjoyed moving through the chapters of American history as we celebrated “READ, White, and Blue” this week at GBE! ☮️🐬
