Civics

Civics is a required middle school course in Florida. Most students will take Civics in 7th grade, but any students new to Florida in 8th grade will be placed in Civics.

During the year, students will complete Progress Monitoring through the Progress Learning platform .

At the end of the year, students will take a comprehensive Civics EOC that accounts for 30% of the student's overall course grade. For this reason, Civics doesn't have semester exams. The grade seen in FOCUS at the end of the year is the results of the EOC.
