B.E.S.T. Writing

B.E.S.T. Writing

Starting in April 2024, all students in grades 4 through 10 will complete the B.E.S.T. writing assessment. This is a computer based assessment in which students are given a vareity of texts to read and they will respond to a prompt regarding what they have read. The prompt will either be Argumentative or Expository. For the grading rubric, click here to visit the State's writing assessment page.

The B.E.S.T. Writing Assessment only occurs once a year (it is not part of the Progress Monitoring process). Also, it is a stand alone result and will not contribute to the ELA test.
